Seceet santa notea2/1/2024 ![]() “Uh,” Keigo laughs, “Place of employment…?” “Got something important you’re saving for?” “4, actually, DoorDash technically doesn’t count since it’s on my own time.” Keigo says. “I work here?” Keigo points to his nametag. He wears a golden nametag on his chest, with his name embossed in ruby red gemstones. He whirls around and glares at Keigo Takami, who’s grinning at him with a thousand-watt smile, dressed in a nice button down, a red tie, and black dress pants. He physically flinches so hard he almost collapses on the ground. There’s a cap of twenty five dollars for the secret santa, so that no one buys someone an iPod or something. When he looks at the price tags he thinks: ah. He enters the jewelry store, because he remembers seeing the red earrings on Keigo’s ears, and thinks this is a good place to start. He doesn’t sing along, although he could. Touya knows all the words because his sister plays them non-stop around this time of year while she decorates. The mall is full of holiday shoppers and it’s annoying. Ever since turkey day, as Touya refers to it, the weather has only gotten worse. Touya has his scarf pulled all the way up to cover his nose. Snow falls around the mall in white tufts. What he hadn’t expected was getting roped into a secret santa, and getting Keigo on as his person on top of it. It gave him an excuse to not spend the night at his parents house, without hurting his mother’s feelings and making her think it’s personal.
